  • Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon Releases August 25

There is also a new gameplay reveal trailer.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco announced that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will be out on August 25, 2023. This release date reveal was shared in a brand new gameplay trailer that went live earlier today.

This is the first big Armored Core franchise release since 2012's release of Armored Core 5. Armored Core 6 was announced as being in development back in December 2022. It was at that time where FromSoftware revealed a short teaser trailer for the game.

FromSoftware also notes that Armored Core 6 will not make use of the "Dark Souls" gameplay loop. So, less bonfires and "soul" runs and more giant mechs blasting the hell out of each other.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Armored Core 6 Features a First for a FromSoftware PC Release
      by Shawn Zipay
      All the frames.

To put it bluntly, FromSoftware's releases on PC have been severely lacking when stacked up against the competition. First, there was Dark Souls which essentially needed the user-created DSfix that addressed the lacking internal resolution and other graphical issues. More recently there was Elden Ring where, although it's a fantastic game, it was capped to 60FPS and still to this day features severe hitching.

Perhaps that's about to change with FromSoftware's...
