Square Enix just shared some new details about the PC system requirements for Forspoken. They are, without a doubt, very lofty in several different ways. Just to set the tone here, the minimum requirements here will get you only 720p and 30FPS.
No matter if you are aiming for minimum, recommended, or ultra quality, everyone will need at least 150GB of free drive space. You are also looking at needing a minimum of 16GB of memory. Oof. That isn't even the worst of it just yet. Let's see what components you will need to hit all of those various graphical settings.

Oh. Okay then. Well, maybe the game features a lot of advanced technologies like ray tracing. Right? Well, no. This game does not utilize technologies such as ray tracing in any way. It does include support for ultra widescreen resolutions, dynamic refresh rates, and HDR. It is also one of the first games to utilize any form of DirectStorage, though their wording seems to suggest this is limited only to those running Windows 11. DirectStorage is also largely supported (minus some additional features) on Windows 10, so their mention only of Windows 11 here is baffling.
A separate piece of information details some of the PC features.
The worst part here is that Square Enix boasts about "smooth performance options of up to 60 frames per second," and then says right after that the 60FPS is "with AMD FSR support." At the very least, it seems like the FSR implemented in Forspoken will be of the 2.0 variety, which is vastly superior to FSR 1.0. Still, there is no implementation of DLSS for Nvidia users.
The new Forspoken PC video showcases both gameplay and in-game cinematics footage from the PC version of the game, and highlights some of the PC specs and features that will be available to players on the PC version at launch, including:
- Stunning visuals with AMD FidelityFX™ Support
- Smooth performance options of up to 60 frames per second (With AMD FSR Support)
- Fast loading times (with Samsung SSD support)
- 32:9 ultra-widescreen support* for a more immersive experience and panoramic views
- Full HDR support and customisable resolutions, aspect ratios and graphic features
- Direct sound compatible device and 7.1 audio (Ambisonics) support
- Freedom to play with either Keyboard & Mouse or Controller input (DUALSHOCK®4 and DualSense™ Wireless Controllers, DirectInput or Xinput compatible controller)
Forspoken starts at $69.99 on all platforms.
