That's weird. They shrank his shoulders, made him look soft.
The Last of Us Part 1

Naughty Dog has officially announced that a remake of The Last of Us will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022. This remake is officially being called The Last of Us Part 1. This remake has long been rumored to be in development but was not officially announced until today's Summer Game Fest showcase.

This remake will feature better enemy AI that is now based off of the AI from The Last of Us Part 2. The game will also run at 60FPS and will also include some new combat options for players. Obviously, a lot of the visuals have been changed up a bit, but you may be hard pressed to notice them without a side-by-side comparison with the original.

A PC release is also in development, but it will be released at a later, unspecified date. The PS5 release is available in three different editions from the basic $69.99 (USD) version, to the Digital Deluxe version at $79.99, to the physical $99.99 Firefly Edition. Details about all these versions can be found at the PlayStation Blog.

In related news, we also learned today that the multiplayer component that most thought would be released later as an update for The Last of Us Part 2, will now be a standalone title. Naughty Dog says that the scope of the Factions multiplayer grew significantly from their initial ideas to the point where the new game is about the same size of their single player experiences.

All that we saw from that today was a single piece of concept art.
