A 2022 release date is looking more and more likely.
God of War Ragnarok has been rated in South Korea. This seems like a pretty decent sign that the game is on track for a 2022 release.
This rating was first spotted by ResetEra user modiz. God of War Ragnarok was rated by the Game Rating and Administration Committee in South Korea and given an "18 and over" rating. Usually when a game is given a rating, it's a pretty safe sign that the game is complete or very near complete. Thus, it probably isn't too far off from being released.
Ragnarok was already delayed once before. It was pushed out of a 2021 release window into a 2022 release window at the time. The recent lack of media and relative radio silence put a growing doubt in the minds of many fans that Ragnarok would be released this year. A recent video put out by Cory Barlog was the first time we heard about Ragnarok in several months. Following that video's release, another developer at Santa Monica Studio said that "Ragnarok is coming this year" in response to a fan on Twitter.
Now, we still don't have a release date for the game yet. So, while this is a pretty good sign that things are shaping up for a release in 2022, let's not get too excited until we know for sure.
