But the game itself is still coming in June.

Supermassive Games, the studio known for Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology titles just made an unfortunate announcement today. Their upcoming title, The Quarry, will have a key component delayed until a month after the game's release.

Though the game itself will still be released on June 10, the game will not include online multiplayer until July 8. If you had planned to play this horror title with a friend, you will have to do so in person through the local couch co-op or the game's movie mode.

Supermassive made this unfortunate announcement via Twitter earlier today.

It should be noted here that the online multiplayer component for this game may not be what you are expecting, or even wanting. The game's Steam page mentions this for the online component:

ENJOY THE FRIGHT WITH FRIENDS
Place your faith in up to 7 friends in online play*, where invited players watch along and vote on key decisions, creating a story shaped by the whole group! Or, play together in a party horror couch co-op experience where each player picks a counselor and controls their actions.
Thus, the idea of it being a traditional online co-op experience, similar to what you had in The Dark Pictures games, does not seem to be the case.
