Destiny 2 developer Bungie hasn't been a perfect studio, but they seem to make a good effort. This is especially apparent with their social causes, many of which are backed by their long-running Bungie Foundation. The company has not shied away from supporting good causes around the world, including but not limited to, their recent support for Ukraine.

Last night, Bungie took to Twitter and their website to speak out against the United States Supreme Court apparently getting ready to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was hailed a "landmark decision" when it was enacted in 1973. At the time, it was ruled that women had a constitutional right to have an abortion without excessive government interference.

Roe v. Wade has now been around for nearly 50 years but is now at risk of being overturned. If this happens, it will be up to individual states to decide if a woman can or cannot have an abortion. As it stands, at least 22 states already have laws ready that will ban abortions, many of which were passed before Roe v. Wade was enacted. Some of these laws make no exceptions for pregnancies as a result of rape or incest.

At Bungie we believe that everyone has a right to choose their own path and that freedom is expressed across all facets of life. The leaked draft decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade represents a blow to freedom in America and is a direct attack on human rights.

By creating a divide between those who possess the fundamental right to make healthcare decisions that are right for them, and those who do not possess that same freedom, this decision, should it become final, will have far-reaching consequences that will be felt for generations across socio-economic lines.

Bungie is committed to safeguarding the freedom and privacy of its employees and providing support to all employees affected by this decision.

Standing up for reproductive choice and liberty is not a difficult decision to make, and Bungie remains dedicated to upholding these values.

If you would like to donate to organizations that support rights to healthcare, these are a few you might consider:
A draft of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was leaked to Politico on May 2. The nearly 100-page document was confirmed to be authentic shortly after. If this draft is finalized and made an official decision by the court, it would remove rights from women throughout the country. It would also remove the option for safe abortions for women.

      by Shawn Zipay
Marty O'Donnell, the composer that crafted the iconic soundtracks for games like the Halo franchise and parts of Destiny, has won his legal battle against Bungie. Today's ruling by a court-appointed arbitrator says that Bungie must honor its agreements made with O'Donnell that gave him the right to hold a "considerable share of stock in the company." Today's ruling also sheds some light on what O'Donnel, Activision, and Bungie all went through during the development of Destiny. How...

The CEO of Bungie, Pete Parsons, is leaving his position and the company after a 23 year run. Long-time Bungie staffer, Justin Truman, will take over for Parsons.
