Diablo Immortal is an upcoming free-to-play action-RPG. The game was originally announced to be a mobile-only title, planned for release on iOS and Android devices, but that has apparently changed ever so slightly.
Diablo Immortal will now also be coming out on the PC in addition to its planned mobile release. It will be out on June 2 on PC as an "open beta" release. PC and mobile and will feature cross-play and cross-progression saves. This means you can start playing on your phone and seamlessly move to playing right where you left off on a PC, or vice-versa. The game will feature classic mouse and keyboard controls along with controller support.
Blizzard announced the PC version in a new blog post that went up earlier today. A second blog post by Blizzard notes that this Diablo game will feel a bit different than what long-time fans are used to.
Diablo Immortal on PC is an experiment from Blizzard. We didn’t originally plan to put this game on desktop—but as soon as it became a possibility, we knew we had to take the time to make it happen. If you’re a longtime Diablo player, the result will feel a little different from other PC Diablo games—but we’re extremely excited about clicking Immortal’s demons dead with our mouse, and we hope you will be too.
Diablo Immortal was first revealed back at BlizzCon 2018. As part of the announcement, the now infamous "Do you guys not have phones?" was heard far and wide.
