Sony announced that they're going to hold a special PlayStation State of Play on March 17 that will be dedicated entirely to Hogwarts Legacy. This State of Play, set to air at 5PM (ET), will be entirely dedicated to the game that is currently in development from Avalanche Software and WB Games.
Chandler Wood, community manager for Avalanche Software, says in a new PlayStation Blog post that the show will run for about 20 minutes. Of those 20 minutes, there will be over 14 minutes of gameplay shown that was captured on a PlayStation 5. The rest will include some new information from members of the development team at Avalanche Software.
Hogwarts Legacy may be out later this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
While I'm sure this is an exciting time for fans, there are some elephants in the room that we do need to address.
First off, there is the ongoing lawsuit against Sony Interactive Entertainment where eight women have claimed to have seen, or been the victims of, sexual discrimination and harassment.
Then, there is also the fact that while not directly involved with Hogwarts Legacy, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has made countless transphobic remarks over the past several years. Her latest transphobic remarks came just this past week on March 8 when the TERF went on yet another transphobic Twitter rant where she spoke out against a proposed Scottish Gender Recognition Reform Bill.
Though it has been said Rowling is not directly involved in Hogwarts Legacy, she will still be benefitting from the game financially.
