Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Dated and Detailed

The PS5 release happens in January, with the PC release coming later.

Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive Entertainment just provided some details on the upcoming release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. This release offers a remastered bundle of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for the PlayStation 5 and PC.

The PlayStation 5 release will take place on January 28, 2022. The PC release will happen later in 2022 with specific details on exactly when that will happen to come at a later date. Some rumors seem to suggest that the PC release may happen around May 2022, but we'll wait to see a confirmation on that one.

The PS5 release of the game offers up the usual improvements like better visuals, various graphical modes, faster loading times, and the like.

Fidelity Mode â€“ For those of you who have a 4K display and want super sharp resolution above all else to enjoy the stunning environments and details the Uncharted series is known for, select Fidelity Mode and play in native 4K resolution with a 30fps target framerate.
Performance Mode â€“ Performance Mode targets a 60 FPS frame rate.
Performance+ Mode â€“ If youâ€™re all about the smoothest gameplay possible and donâ€™t mind a resolution drop, try out our first ever Performance+ Mode which targets 120fps* at a 1080p resolution.

Sony says that the load times are "near instant" thanks to the tech in the PS5. The game also includes spatial 3D audio. The DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers have also been utilized. For instance, you'll be able to "feel" things like the 4x4 vehicles rolling along, or landing a punch on an enemy, or swinging on a rope.

The pricing on this release may not make some people happy. If you do not own the games at all on the PlayStation 4 and are buying this fresh, the price is $49.99 (USD). That's not too bad. However, if you own any of the games on the PlayStation 4, you'll have to pay $10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. A free upgrade would be nice, but Sony did say during the Horizon Forbidden West upgrade controversy that all future upgrades of this nature would have a flat $10 rate attached to them.

It's also important to note that those that picked up Uncharted 4 for free through their PlayStation Plus subscription are not eligible for this $10 upgrade path. This release will also not feature the multiplayer component found in Uncharted 4.

However, there is a free Uncharted movie ticket offer for those in "select countries." If you get Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, or upgrade to it, you'll get a voucher code for one ticket to see the Uncharted movie in participating theaters. You'll need to buy the collection or upgrade digitally between now and February 3, 2022 to be eligible for this.
