Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix announce that Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is now available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and through GeForce Now. In addition, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version is also available for the Nintendo Switch in select regions.

To mark today's release, a new trailer and the last details about the game have been released.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a single player action-adventure title. This game features an original story and is said to be a "fresh take" on the Guardians of the Galaxy. Think of this as Mass Effect but where Shepard is Star-Lord and Tali is a talking raccoon.

This release also includes a stellar soundtrack that includes over 30 classic 80s hits. It includes songs from Bonnie Tyler, Rick Astley, KISS, Hot Chocolate, Mötley Crüe, A-ha, Wham!, Tears for Fears, Blondie, Billy Idol, and more. The full list of songs can be found courtesy of Windows Central.

In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, take on the role of Star-Lord, the self-proclaimed leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and lead the guardians in combat, exploration and conversation. Discover new cosmic superheroes, super villains and worlds. Upgrade guardians and experiment with 40+ in-game outfits, and much more.

“We knew that Eidos-Montréal would be the right partner to create an original, authentic, and fun Guardians of the Galaxy experience, and they delivered on that vision in spades,” said Jay Ong, EVP and Head of Marvel Games. “We hope fans enjoy this unique spin on our beloved Guardians and have a thrilling ride across the cosmos.”

Played through the first couple of chapters tonight on PC and I'm having a great time. The writing, dialogue, and music choices have all been absolutely fantastic.

From Deus Ex to Thief to Tomb Raider... And now something out of left field? Interesting. Never saw the developers as the type to make games with comedy dialogue.

K-16 I'm finding the game to be better than the first movie, which I admittedly did not like very much (and never watched the second). Lots of good comedy. The action is nice. The dialogue outside of the comedy is also very well written. I'm often just pausing to listen to side conversations between characters. The game is also quite good looking. I've been taking a fair number of screenshots and such in the photo mode.

I don't know what impact my dialogue choices have on the game though, outside of the obvious immediate stuff like different dialogue being said in the moment. But when the game says that Rocket is furious that I threw him across a chasm, I don't know if that will matter for later on in the game. I'll be interested to find out if there are actual major differences after I complete the game.

Edit: I'm also finding out that from where I stopped playing last night I'm around a third of the way through the game. I have a play time sitting at 5 hours. So I'm expecting to beat it at around 15 hours, which sounds awesome to me.

Huh... Neat! Your comment could basically double as a first impressions article in and of itself. But it does sound like it's worth checking out for the story.

I have a feeling no long-term impacts will happen from dialogue choices, but I did enjoy the bit where Rocket very angrily swears at you, followed by shooting at you, with Gamora sarcastically wondering how pissed off he is.

Got to say, Alex Weiner did a fantastic job voicing Rocket Raccoon. I thought only Bradley Cooper and Nolan North could pull it off, but Alex definitely knows how to raise his voice without sounding aggravatingly annoying. Gamora sounds too warm and friendly, but still, good stuff.
