Expect a full reveal to come in January 2022.
2K and Visual Concepts revealed WWE 2K22 this past weekend during WWE's SummerSlam 2021 broadcast. If you missed it, we have the same announcement trailer below for your viewing pleasure. Of note is the fact that the studios have decided upon a March 2022 release date for the game.
The video shows off a little bit of gameplay featuring Rey Mysterio. You also get a look at Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Bayley, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, The Miz, Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, Ricochet, and Kane. A screenshot of Edge was also shared, "showing off incredible detail in his entrance attire, pyrotechnics, and stage lighting. Just ignore the fact that he seems to be missing his teeth.
2K and Visual Concepts promises that there will be new controls and a redesigned engine "for the most impressive WWE 2K22 experience to date." Supposedly 85% of the in-game roster has taken part of the facial scanning progress for detailed character models. I assume you'll be able to tell which characters did not take part in that process pretty easily. Over 3,400 new animations have also been captured.
