Blizzard rolled out the beta for Overwatch crossplay today, something that they first announced earlier this month. This means that players on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and even Nintendo can group up and play together as if they were all on the same platform.
All you need to have to participate is a connected Battle.net account. Full details on what you need to do to get things set up properly can be found at PlayOverwatch.com.
This whole crossplay beta launches alongside the new Ashe's Deadlock Challenge. This lets players earn Ashe-and-Bob themed awards for playing games in Quick Play, Competitive, and Arcade modes. You get an item for every 9 games you play, with a breakdown of rewards being as follows:
- 9 games played - Earn an icon
- 18 games played - Earn a spray
- 27 games played - Epic Deadlock Ashe skin
For this Twitch viewing event, be sure to have your Battle.net account tied to your Twitch account. If you don't, you won't get these special Twitch Drops. You will also have to manually claim these drops within 24 hours of earning them. Progress towards the next unlocks won't happen until the current drop is claimed.
