Blizzard announced that a crossplay beta is coming very soon to Overwatch. This will allow players on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch to team up and play with one another. This crossplay beta is coming thanks to a new update for Battle.net. This update also merges friends lists from different territories.

In order to enable this crossplay beta, you will have to log into your Battle.net account and link your console accounts. As a bonus, those that log into Battle.net to enable crossplay by December 31, 2021 will get a Golden Loot Box for free.

If this is at all confusing to you, Blizzard has a short FAQ set up on their crossplay announcement post.

There are some limitations to this crossplay system. For instance, Blizzard says that progression and collection content will not carry over between sessions on different platforms.
