During today's Nintendo Direct showcase, Nintendo actually shared a new look at Metroid Prime 4. This is the first look at the game since it was announced back at E3 2017.
Metroid Prime 4 development has undergone significant issues and changes in the past seven years. Bandai Namco was the initial development lead on the game. In 2019, Nintendo announced that development on Metroid Prime 4 was being restarted under Retro Studios, the original developers of the franchise. Since then, it's been radio silence.
At the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo shared that Metroid Prime 4 is now officially called Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. With today's new look at the game, we also learn that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is targeting a 2025 release window.
