See, you played as a character named "Link" in the previous games.
Nintendo just announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for the Nintendo Switch. Link is out of the picture for this one, with Princess Zelda herself taking on the lead role. Undoubtedly this outing will be better than her outings on the Philips CD-i.
Echoes of Wisdom is expected to be released for the Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024. You can expect the gameplay to be quite different from previous entries. Zelda will make use of the Tri Rod, a weapon that is able to "Echo," or copy, creatures and objects to either fight along side her or help solve puzzles.
Allegedly, each playthrough will differ quite a bit. Eiji Aonuma, series lead on Zelda, says that a player's experience will be different depending on the echoes they make and use with the Tri Rod.
Zelda will be tasked with finding missing citizens of Hyrule after they were nabbed by a number of strange rifts that appeared all over Hyrule. Yes, Link is also one of the people that have gone missing. Zelda will team up with a fairy named Tri and together why will create echoes, or copies, to help them along their adventure.
Some creative solutions were shared by Nintendo, such as using beds to form a bridge or using blocks of water to swim up a cliffside.
On the same date, Nintendo will release a special golden "Hyrule Edition" of the Nintendo Switch Lite.
