Because it's not like you'll be able to buy a card on its own anyway.

Maingear passed along word today that they have just launched a line of desktop PCs that include Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards. According to Maingear, the VYBE pre-configured desktops begin at $1,699 (USD) and top out at $3,499 for those with money to spare.

Now, what really makes this an interesting proposition is the fact that the base price of roughly $1,700 for a full desktop is actually just as expensive or, in several cases, cheaper than buying one of these cards on its own. Seriously. There are several third-party partner 3080 Ti cards that are going for insanely high prices, even above the already pretty mental $1,200 MSRP. Hell, I've seen one card listing from ASUS priced at $1,999.99.

Not like it matters anyway, because the 3080 Ti has sold out everywhere pretty much immediately thanks to the lack of supply. So what option are you left with? You either wait if possible, go the scalper route, or you buy a pre-built and use that (or simply gut it for parts).
