For you Potterheads out there, the wait for Hogwarts Legacy just got a bit longer. Warner Bros. had initially announced the big RPG style game as coming in 2021 during a late 2020 announcement. Sadly, it now looks like Hogwarts Legacy will instead arrive some time in 2022.

The studio, by way of a tweet, says that in order to create the "best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans" they want to give the game "the time it needs." As such, the game will be released in 2022 at some point.

Hogwarts Legacy takes place in Hogwarts way back in the 1800s. You will create your own young student that "holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart." The reveal trailer, seen below, features plenty of duels, dragons, and riding of hippogriffs.

Warner Bros. has tried to distance themselves from the very public and very transphobic views of the franchise creator J.K. Rowling. They have gone so far as to say that she is not directly involved in the production of the game. However, it is not yet known if she is still benefitting financially from the creation and ultimate sale of this title to fans.
