Team17 launched the latest entry in their Worms franchise today. Unlike most of their other entries, this one is a battle royale fight to the death available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms. Worms Rumble brings fast and frantic real-time action to the series for the first time.
Today's launch includes three diverse maps: Missile Mall, Portal Park, and Transforming Towers. There are plans for free additional content and updates in the coming weeks and months, though there is no word on what this free content will include.
In addition to the three maps, there are three game types included: Deathmatch, solo battle royale queue, and a team-based variant of battle royale. The game supports matches of up to 32 players.
As a little bonus for PlayStation owners, Worms Rumble is a free release as part of PlayStation Plus for the month of December. In addition to this free PS Plus release, the game supports crossplay with those on PC via Steam.
