Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady has revealed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League tonight during DC FanDome. The studio has been working on this title for a number of years now and yes, it does serve as a continuation of the Batman: Arkham games that you know so well from them.

They are calling this one an "action-adventure shooter" that will allow you and up to three friends to play as members of the Suicide Squad. These characters include Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang. The trailer, seen below, shows these four unwilling heroes as Metropolis is under attack by Brainiac. They are then sent off after Superman, a murderous Superman. Oh my!

It seems as though that there are evil versions of Superman and other Justice League heroes in this game, hence the title. It will be up to you and possibly three additional friends to take down these evil doppelgangers.

Each of the four main characters will have different abilities and weapons to make use of. For example, it was revealed during a post-reveal Q&A that Deadshot will have wrist-cannons and a jetpack that can set people on fire. Harley Quinn will use a baseball bat and a grappling gun. King Shark will have twin cleavers and a big cannon. Captain Boomerang will throw boomerangs. Well, we can't all be cool. The trailer does seem to show him using some form of explosives as well, so he's been redeemed a bit.

If you do not want to play with your friends, you can have a go at it solo. You will be able to swap between the characters as you wish if you do. The other three characters with you will be controlled by AI.

Look for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to be released in 2022 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

This is the second co-op focused game revealed by WB Games tonight. The first one was Gotham Knights, which is a one-to-two player co-op title set in a universe in which Batman is dead.
