Get a taste of Nemesis before he makes you a four-course meal.
Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis

Some big news was announced for fans of the Resident Evil franchise, especially for those looking forward to the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake. Though the full game won't be released until April 3, 2020, Capcom will release a Resident Evil 3 demo on March 19. On top of this, the developer says that an open beta for Resident Evil Resistance begins on March 27. For those who may have forgotten, Resident Evil Resistance is the free multiplayer component that is included with every purchase of Resident Evil 3.

As for the Resident Evil 3 demo, Capcom will release it on March 19 across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo will let you play as Jill Valentine for a bit ahead of the game's full release. In addition to giving players a taste of the gameplay, story, and action, it will also include an all-new cinematic trailer that will play after the demo is completed.

The release times for the demo are 12AM (ET) for the Xbox One and 1PM (ET) for the PlayStation 4 and Steam.

There is a little bonus objective included with this Resident Evil 3 demo. Capcom is inviting players to "test their limits" with a Mr. Charlie scavenger hunt within the demo itself. The studio says that there are 20 Mr. Charlie statues hidden throughout Raccoon City within the demo. Your objective is to find and destroy all of them while also dealing with Nemesis. There will at least be an onscreen counter that will let you know of how many you've found while playing.

Capcom did not actually say what, if anything, you may earn should you find all 20 statues. If nothing else, you will have earned the respect and admiration of your peers during this trying time. Maybe.

If the Resident Evil 3 demo isn't enough to satiate your appetite for all things Resident Evil, then perhaps an open beta for Resident Evil Resistance will do the trick. The open beta for this upcoming asymmetrical 4 vs 1 multiplayer game will begin on March 27. In the open beta, the only one of the game's four Masterminds will be available to try out. The Mastermind that will be available in the beta is Daniel Fabron, whom you can learn more about here.

Those who are not playing as the Mastermind will get their pick of the six Survivors. There will obviously be four of these Survivors going up against the single Mastermind. All Survivors have their own strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. This open beta begins March 27 at 3AM (ET) for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Steam will get the beta going at 1PM (ET) on the 27th. This beta will run through to April 3 when the game launches with Resident Evil 3. There is no saying anywhere that progress made in this beta will carry over to the final game.

About Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance
Resident Evil 3 stars Jill Valentine – one of video games’ most iconic heroines – as she escapes from a doomed Raccoon City while being pursued by the unrelenting bioweapon Nemesis. The horrific settings from the original game and new content come to life as never before with RE Engine, previously utilized to create the acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 with high-definition graphics and modernized gameplay mechanics.

In Resident Evil Resistance, one Mastermind plots a deadly course by wielding a strategic deck of cards that create dangerous obstacles for a group of Survivors desperate to escape including vicious creatures, traps, ways to manipulate the environment, and weaponization of security cameras. In turn, Survivors must work together using their own special abilities and items they come across to thwart the Mastermind, and escape the experiment before time runs out.
