Dragon Quest and chill?
Dragon Quest Your Story

If you have Netflix, then you can start watching the CG-animated full-length film, Dragon Quest Your Story, right now. This is of course assuming this movie isn't region locked or absent in certain parts of the world. We all know how Netflix can be with different libraries in different parts of the world.

This is the same film that was released in Japan back in 2019 from Toho. This movie is naturally based on the popular Dragon Quest gaming series. The super generic gist of the games is that a young boy is trying to save his mother from "unimaginable evil." That sounds pretty, pretty bad.

Dragon Quest Your Story has been adapted from the plot for Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. That means you'll be following Luca as he follows his father's footsteps who was searching for his mother. His mom? Captured by the evil Ladja, a "high-ranking member of an organization known as The Order of Zugzwang." Luca isn't diving into his adventures empty handed though. He has the power of magic and anime on his side.

Luca will be battling through various monsters as he goes out in search of the Zenithian sword and the Legendary Hero. According to this press release, this Legendary Hero may be his only hope for success. Wow. Way to have zero faith in yourself, Luca!

The creation of Dragon Quest Your Story was supervised by Yuji Horii, the original creator of Dragon Quest. The running time of the film clocks in at 1 hour and 42 minutes.

And wouldn't you know it, Square Enix also wants us to inform you all about where you can get more Dragon Quest goodness. For instance, were you aware that you can play Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age right now? Alternatively, you can build stuff in Dragon Quest Builders 2. These are out right now on platforms like the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
