A Twitch viewer caused a fair bit of panic today after they threatened a mass shooting at this year's Evolution Championship Series (EVO). The Twitch user called "quackquackhonks" apparently made the threat earlier today in another user's stream chat.


Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar was quick to issue a statement about the threat. The head of EVO stated that he has already informed the FBI via their tips website. He says he has also notified Twitch.

According to Unikrn, this threat has reportedly left some members of the Fighting Game Community shaken. The site also notes that this certainly isn't the first time that a threat has caused a scare at events like this. They note that in December, MLG Dallas was evacuated twice over a bomb scare.

As of right now, EVO 2018 is still scheduled for August 3-5, 2018 in Las Vegas. It will be held at the Mandalay Bay resort and casino. Mandalay Bay was the location of a mass shooting massacre in October 2017.
