• PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Surpasses $11 Million in Sales in Three Days

The Bluehole developed PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has already surpassed $11 million sales in its first three days of being on Steam Early Access. The developer, based in South Korea, announced this detail today along with the fact that it has topped 67,000 concurrent players.

The game is currently available on Steam for just $30 and aims to surpass rivals in the genre such as H1Z1. It probably stands to reason since the team includes the original creator of the competitive open-world "battle royale" genre. Brendan Greene made the original PlayerUnknown's Battle Royale mod for Arma 3 and worked on the Battle Royale mode for H1Z1.

From the looks of things, the game already seems to be in a better state than H1Z1 currently is, though both games are insanely popular right now.

Even I want to try it out! It looks like fun and unlike most survival/shooting/scavenging/battleground games they do not seem to be promising anything crazy and they actually released a decent non buggy game with OK animations and solid physics and gameplay.

I've been playing it and i really appreciate how much faster it is compared to other 'Battle Royale' games, some have crafting, some have you earning currency you spend on weapons, some have you repairing vehicles, some have matches which can last an hour or more. Not here, jump out of plane, easily find very effective gear, shoot people, drive already prepared vehicles, race to keep inside the rapidly shrinking safe zone, manage inventory with the quickest and easiest to use inventory menu i've ever seen, matches last around 20-30 mins, bring some friends with in-game Steam party management, it's all just ready and waiting for you to enjoy no fuss.
By making it quicker and easier to use than any other game in the genre they've launched with a big bang, that's not to say there arn't issues, spotty performance, blurry presentation, missing settings and plenty of bugs to fix, if they can bring the technical side of the game up to par with the gameplay then it will be pretty great.
