If you received an email from Razer recently that talks about a new sponsorship opportunity, you may want to check out the URL before you go clicking. Razer informs us that a number of spam messages have been sent out in their name that promises free sponsorship. In reality, the emails contain links to malware.
WHAT: Razer's global brand and gamers' love of esports is being targeted by scammers.

A fake email offering a free streamer sponsorship from Razer hit the Internet last week. This email is a scam and recipients should not click on any of the links within the email as it will launch a malware application.

Scam Indicators include the following: The email comes from a Gmail account and not from a Razerzone.com account; Razer is misspelled in the email address as “Razorzonesponsorship”; The email body contains spelling and grammatical mistakes that are common in scam emails.

Just something to keep in mind going into this weekend.
