• New Forza Horizon 3 Update Breaks the Game on PC, Downloads 53GB Debug Version

Do you own Forza Horizon 3 on the PC? If so, you may have downloaded one hell of a broken update today to the tune of 53GB. Some users on the official forums have reported that the massive update totally replaces their game with a debug version of the game, something that should have been made public (obviously).

So, what can you do if you downloaded the debug version of the game by mistake? Well, I hope you like downloading the game again, because that's what you need to do.
- The incorrect PC version of FH3 has now been removed and replaced. PC players who have the FH3 version ending with .37.2 should immediately uninstall that version of the game, then re-install. The correct playable version should end in .35.2.

- NOTE: PC players who completed the download of .37.2 and then started a new game save will have a corrupted saved game. Avoid creating a new saved game on .37.2, and only play on .35.2 to avoid this issue. As long as you have an existing save and have not created a new one on .37.2, your saved game will work correctly once the update is available.

As a reminder, you can check your version number on the launch screen where you sign in.

What a fine mess this is.

I feel sorry for those who have to wait until next month for their ISP's monthly cap to reset. I've seen internet plans at 65 GB per month and that's at both upload/download. Average is about 150 GB in my area (not by choice but by price), so have fun nuking more than a third of your monthly limit.

Now... Windows 10 is bad at letting me know when things are happening that i want to know about, so i have no idea if i downloaded that update, however, being 53GB it would take me 7 and a half hours to download at full speed so i think i'd have noticed if it did.
Fortunately if i do have to re-install the game at any point i still have the .EAppx file of the game, as it remains impossible for me to download any large file from the Windows Store without it failing.

What a great OS.

Hold on, i guess i'd better check the game before i end this comment.
26 agonizing seconds of unskippable developer logos later...
Cool, apparently i downloaded the correct .35.2 version of the game, and i had no idea.
