Capcom spilled the beans on Resident Evil 7 today at the Tokyo Game Show. The latest out of the developer includes a new trailer focusing on combat in Resident Evil 7, news of an update coming to the Resident Evil 7 demo, Beginning Hour, and details on a recently announced Deluxe Edition.

Capcom notes that the Resident Evil 7 demo broke records in its first week of availability. It was the most downloaded demo in North America on PS4. It has reached over 3 million downloads around the world. Capcom has also announced that the demo itself will be updated to allow the players to "explore more of the mysterious, derelict mansion." They're calling it the "Twilight" version and it will be made available later today (September 15) for all PS4 owners to download.

For those looking to pick up the game ahead of its January 24, 2017 release on the PS4 (and PlayStation VR), PC, or XB1, you may be interested in picking up the Deluxe Edition, which will see its price go up $10 probably by the time you read this.
Pre-orders for Resident Evil 7 are currently available in both standard and deluxe versions on PlayStation 4. The deluxe edition was previously available for pre-order in North America for $79.99 MSRP which included the main game and a season pass containing access to two additional playable story episodes which will be launching after the title’s release on January 24, 2017. Capcom confirmed today that the deluxe edition has been upgraded to include another playable story episode bringing the total of additional pieces of content to three and the price will be updated to $89.99 MSRP beginning tomorrow. Anyone who previously pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition in North America on the PlayStation Store will automatically be upgraded to the new deluxe edition at no additional charge.

All pre-orders will include the Survival Pack, which includes "consumable healing items, an early unlock of the insanely difficult Madhouse mode, and a mysterious Lucky Coin in-game defense item." PS4 owners that pre-order will also get a free dynamic theme. Pre-orders on the Xbox One and PC (via Steam) will begin in the coming weeks.

Finally, we have a new trailer and new screenshots to share with you. The screenshots are in 4K resolution but the trailer is only in 1080p. Yeah, weird, I know. There is a 4K version of the trailer available for press to download and upload elsewhere, but it's 1.5GB and that's just not happening here. Such is life!
