Sony will finally begin to offer two-step verification for the PlayStation Network. In a move that should have happened years ago, this new security measure should give some users the peace of mind to once again tie their credit cards to their PSN accounts."In order to further safeguard our users and their accounts, we are preparing to offer a 2-step verification feature," a Sony representative said.
This was first noticed after the latest PlayStation 3 firmware update where some users noticed an error message after a series of unsuccessful login attempts.
It's not been stated just yet when this security feature will go live. In fact, there's no word on whether or not this will be implemented for anything other than the PlayStation 3, but one would hope.
