Rocket League will soon have some new Back to the Future DLC. On October 21, the Back to the Future content will be released for the game, and yes, this does include the infamous DeLorean.
Starting October 21, 2015 — the same day that Marty McFly traveled to in Back to the Future, Part II — The world-famous DeLorean Time Machine will officially appear as a playable Battle-Car in Rocket League!

Truth be told, we used to fantasize and joke about having the DeLorean Time Machine in our game months before it even came out. We were all such huge Back to the Future fans here at Psyonix, that it was one of the few “Holy Grails” we had hoped for besides having a hit game. The fact that we’re getting both of those “best-case scenarios” in the same year is an amazing accomplishment for us, they’re things we’ll never forget!

Hopefully you’ll never forget your time with the DeLorean Time Machine either, as we’ve worked meticulously to recreate its look, feel, and folding jet-wheels just as they appeared in the original motion picture trilogy. Best of all, it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play with — and comes complete with its signature “Burnt Rubber” Rocket Trail to boot!

This might be the first piece of DLC I was ever actually excited for.

Sadly, it's not very fun. The game has been overhyped and is far too overrated. You'll see what I mean when it quickly gets boring and repetitive if you give it a try.

Seriously, my experience with the game was just as disappointing as this video here. If five people sharing four controllers aren't having fun, then you can guess how bad it was for me. Avoid this game, but if you don't believe me, watch the video.

Is that the entirety of the game? 2v2 soccer with cars? Fun for awhile, repetitive after not too long, looks to me...

I'm a gigantic BttF fan and think the DLC concept is awesome, but not sure I want the game in the first place. =(

There's 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 modes. You can play online with and against others. There is cross-platform play between PC and PS4. There's car customization (cosmetics) through an easy unlock system (just play, level up/finish a match and you get something). There is a single player season. There are online leagues built into the game if you want something more than just a one off online.

So yeah, the core game is just "soccer with cars" but it's a sports game. If you don't like sports or sports games, you're going to not see the appeal in this. But I mean... it can get to be pretty sophisticated as far as skill is concerned.

Even defense is kind of nuts at times.

Rocket League is Now Free to Play
    by Shawn Zipay
    As the headline says.

If you have yet to pick up and try Rocket League, now would be the best time to do so. The game is now officially free to play across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This also means that Rocket League is no longer able to be added through Steam and is only available on PC through the Epic Games Store.

Bummer, right? I believe that those that paid for the game previously now have some bonus legacy content available to them? I'm not 100% sure of this...

Rocket League Announces End of Linux and macOS Support

Developer Psyonix made the announcement earlier today on Steam.

Psyonix, the developer behind the once very popular Rocket League announced that they will no longer support macOS or Linux come early March. It is in early March that a patch will be released for all three platforms (Windows, macOS, and Linux). This will be the last one for every PC platform but Windows.

As stated, the announcement came first via Steam. In the announcement, the team says that while they are...
