Some players noticed that the six-month subscription option for The Elder Scrolls Online was removed from the game. When this has happened to other MMO's in the past, this seemed to point towards a move of the game to a free to play model in some cases. In other cases, it actually pointed to the game being shut down completely such as with Warhammer Online.
ZeniMax has made no official announcement about anything yet. The only thing they said about this move is that users simply preferred the shorter billing options and saw no need for the six month option. Unsurprisingly, not many people are buying that particular excuse. Maybe we'll see the news pop up again in about six months from now.
