Valve Pulls Controversial Game Hatred from Steam Greenlight
Mere hours after it hit Steam Greenlight, controversial game Hatred pulled it off of the service calling the title "unpublishable."
A message sent to developer Destructive Creations included the following note:
"We wanted you guys to know that based on what we see on Greenlight we would not publish Hatred on Steam. As such w'all be taking it down."
The guidelines for Steam Greenlight does include a bit about how submissions must not "contain offensive material." Hatred is an isometric shooter with little to no purpose other than committing mass murder against innocent civilians.
I should also note that the developers are believed to be Neo-Nazis. One of them had briefly "liked" a Neo-Nazi group on Facebook. In the company staff photo, one of them is wearing a t-shirt of the white nationalist militia. So... there's that.
So when people go "but what about Postal?!" you can point out that the developers are actually scum. It's also part of the reason why I will not link to their game or site.

I don't know if i'd go that far, i played all of Postal 2 years ago and i feel it didn't push things too much further than South Park does, it's absolutely a morally questionable game but one worth checking out i feel for it's absurdity.
Postal 3 however, from what i've seen of that game, is garbage in every way, definately takes things way too far.
In most games where it's possible to kill civilians, you're meant to feel guilty, not empowered. And it certainly isn't ever meant as the sole purpose games, except for Hatred now. Therein lies the rub with something like Hatred (that, and the whole... you know, Neo-Nazi thing).
Running with Scissors is the dev behind the Postal franchise. The Postal series may take things to the extreme but their games aren't centered around murdering innocent people.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is ready to release on April 28, 2026.
