  • Launch Trailer for The Crew

Ubisoft has released a new launch trailer for their open world racing title, The Crew.

Today, Ubisoft announced the worldwide launch of The Crew for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC on December 2, 2014.

The Crew is a revolutionary action-driving MMO that propels gamers on a reckless ride through a massive open world version of the United States of America, brimming with exciting challenges and diverse terrain - from city to suburb, county to county, state to state, coast to summit. The Crew redefines the level of freedom players experience in a driving game by offering a playground of unprecedented scope in which any driving fantasy can be realized: speeding on coastal highways, slaloming through the bustling streets of major cities, drifting along the sharp turns of mountainous tracks…

The Crew is slated to be released tomorrow, December 2. It allows players to drive around a virtual model of the United States, customize a variety of cars, and participate in a number of events with others.

I had it pre-loaded but didn't care enough to play it at midnight last night. It's decrypting now and I'll play it at some point today once I get some news up and take care of other things.

A class action lawsuit is in the works.

Ubisoft is being sued by a couple of people after the studio shutdown their racing game, The Crew. Released in 2014, the game was shut down recently due to "server infrastructure and licensing constraints." This effectively made the game unplayable as The Crew completely lacked any offline or single-player mode.

Ubisoft announced in December 2023 that they would be shutting down the servers. At the time, they offered...

    It's very effective.

Earlier in the year, we learned that Tencent was teaming up with Ubisoft to create a new subsidiary studio. This new studio, this new Ubisoft, would focus on popular Ubisoft IPs such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. The new subsidiary was valued at about €4 billion, which includes the roughly 25% investment (€1.16 billion) from Tencent.

Though work is still ongoing to get the studio opened by the end of the year, we...
