  • Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Released - First New Title under the Sierra Name

Today marks the first new release of the recently resurrected Sierra name, a publishing studio for Activision. The first release is for none other than Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is an exciting evolution of the fast-paced twin-stick shooter gameplay the Geometry Wars franchise helped define nearly a decade ago. While the game’s look should be immediately familiar to hardcore fans, it features new 3D action and gameplay modes, a dedicated single-player campaign with 50 levels and revamped online cooperative and competitive multiplayer. It also adds five unique companion drones, new power-ups, electrifying boss battles and community leaderboards. There are also Classic Arcade modes available for those still hungry for the original Geometry Wars experience.

Lucid Games’ partnership with the Sierra label has given the developer an opportunity to remain independent, but still be able to create the game they dreamed about. As part of Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc., Sierra’s focus is on working with indie studios to bring both classic and original high-quality new games to market.

Geometry Wars 3 can be yours today for $14.99 (USD) for digital purchase via PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. Tomorrow, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will be able to pick up the game.

Picked it up on the PSS tonight. So far it's fun. I have always enjoyed GW.

Yeah, I just played it for about an hour. Either I'm really rusty or this game is far more difficult than Retro Evolved on the 360.

It's good they included classic modes, you can work on the games main progression but if you want something more like Geometry Wars 2 it's there too.

Took me 4 or 5 tries to beat the first boss lol. The older I get, I'm 43 now, the worse I get at games.

The first boss was a one and done for me but the one that took me forever to do is the pill/capsule level. That one took me probably 8-9 tries to finally beat. Now I need to earn like one or two more stars to unlock the next boss fight, which is equally as frustrating.
