Turtle Rock Studios' Creative Director, Phil Robb, revealed that the DLC maps for Evolve will be free for everyone that owns the game. He notes that he and his team wanted to avoid making player sit out of games just because they didn't buy the correct DLC.
In addition to that good news, Robb also notes that players will still be able to play in matches where paid DLC monsters or hunters are being used. From the sounds of it, that simply means that while you can play in those matches with those that are using the paid content, you won't be able to use the paid content for yourself. Robb notes that they don't want players to "feel like they have to buy anything in order to enjoy the game."
Well, you know, outside of buying the actual game itself.

I'm sure people won't be angry at having to fight things they don't have access to.
I'm not against it personally, i'm just saying someone will be angry, someone always is.
