According to Microsoft, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be released this Friday. Those who own the Xbox 360 version of the game will be able to upgrade to the Xbox One Edition for just $4.99 (USD). If you don't own the previous version, the game will run new players $19.99. If you purchased any extra content on the 360, that content will be made available for free on the Xbox One so that you can re-download it.

In addition to this, it seems as though Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition may be released as early as tonight. Mojang's Daniel Kaplan said that they're ironing out a few last minute things with Sony prior to release.

The pricing on the PlayStation 4 Edition for Minecraft is the same as the Xbox One version.

Both versions feature worlds that are 36 times larger than on the previous generation of consoles. There is also local split-screen co-op on both versions of the game.
