The Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been rumored through anonymous sources with Engadget. As you may expect from the name, the collection will include HD versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4.

This is to build up towards the release of Halo 5: Guardians next year. So where are games like Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach? Well, those games aren't a part of Master Chief's main story so it wouldn't make much sense to include those in with the "Master Chief Collection" of games.

If true, that certainly takes the wind out of the sails of Microsoft and 343 Industries as they promised some big news at E3 and later on in 2014. It's also speculated that Saber Interactive might be handling this project. They are the ones that worked on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and it's said they're working on an unannounced Xbox One project, so they are a likely candidate to handle this collection.
