Blizzard Reportedly Pulled Diablo 4 Announcement from BlizzCon (Updated)

I figure an entirely new news post for this would be appropriate. Yesterday, it was reported from Kotaku's Jason Schreier that Blizzard had apparently pulled a Diablo 4 announcement at the last minute from BlizzCon 2018.

A video had apparently been recorded featuring Blizzard's co-founder Allen Adham talking to fans about a new Diablo project. The original statement says that Blizzard pulled this video announcement from BlizzCon 2018 at the last minute. Blizzard has since come forward to make a public statement about this, saying that no, this wasn't the case at all.

Blizzard Reportedly Pulled Diablo 4 Announcement from BlizzCon

A new report from Kotaku's Jason Schrier says that Blizzard pulled a Diablo 4 announcement from BlizzCon ahead of the annual event. Last week, the single Diablo reveal was for Diablo Immortal, a new game coming exclusively to mobile devices running Android and iOS.

Naturally, people were upset. This is despite Blizzard and the Diablo developers saying that they have "multiple teams working on different Diablo projects" but they would not talk about all of them during BlizzCon 2018.

  • Sources Say Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to Ditch Traditional Single-Player Campaign

According to a report that went up today from Polygon, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII will not feature a "traditional" single-player campaign. It will instead focus more on the multiplayer and Zombie modes.

Sources close to Polygon said that development by Treyarch on Black Ops IIII has been going rather poorly. As a result, it seems as though the single-player campaign wasn't going to be completed in time for the game's release date, which is still set for October 12, 2018. At some point, development then switched away from creating the single player campaign to expanding the game's multiplayer and Zombies modes. The source then goes on to say t...

Rumor: Destiny 2's First DLC Includes Rescuing Osiris

The latest Destiny 2 DLC rumor comes to us courtesy of Jason "Press Sneak Fuck" Schreier of Kotaku. This rumor suggests that the first piece of DLC will focus on the magical space wizard, Osiris, and will include a new patrol zone and new social space.

As always, the sources are anonymous, but Schreier's track record on rumors is pretty damn solid. The DLC is apparently called The Curse of Osiris and is slated to be released this December. There will be a new patrol area and it will be on Mercury. A new social space is the Lighthouse, the area formerly reserved to those that went flawless in the Trials of...

Rumor: Life is Strange Prequel Images Leaked

It seems as though there may have been a leak of some screenshots and concept art for a Life is Strange prequel. Yes, Dontnod announced already that they are working on a second season of Life is Strange with new characters, a new setting, and a new story. This prequel that is rumored isn't from them. It is instead apparently by Deck Nine.

If the name doesn't sound familiar to you, it may be because they used to be known as Idol Minds. Idol Minds worked on games like Pain (PS3), some of the Cool Boarders games for the PS1, and Ratchet: Deadlocked HD for the PS3. With the new name comes a new focus on creating "deep, interactive,...

Destiny 2 Reportedly Coming to PC

According to both Jason Schreier of Kotaku and the industry insider known as shinobi602, Destiny 2 will also be released on the PC in addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Kotaku cites different sources that say the game is PC bound and that it will feel like an entirely new game compared to the first Destiny. According to the sources, this news cropped up during an internal presentation at Activision. It was also suggested by these sources t hat Vicarious Visions, another Activision-owned studio, is helping out on Destiny 2.

Perhaps the most shocking news here is that Destiny 2 will feel like a proper sequel and not something that you would consider a mere add-on.

Report: Inside is Coming to the PlayStation 4 in August

A Trophy list for Playdead's Inside was spotted over the weekend via Exophase. It raised some eyebrows as the game has been exclusive to the Xbox One and PC realms for a bit of time now.

However, sources close to VG247 have said with certainty that Inside will be released on the PlayStation 4 at the end of August.

I absolutely loved my time spent with Inside, giving it a near solid 5 out of 5 stars during a recent Week in Review. I also put up a full, unedited play through of Inside on YouTube. You can check out the playlist for that here or just wait until the end of August to pick up...

Report: Nintendo NX is Portable Console with Detachable Controllers

According to a report by Eurogamer, the Nintendo NX is a portable console that features detachable controllers. Keep in mind that Nintendo has not yet announced anything about the NX just yet. What Eurogamer is reporting on here should be considered a rumor until otherwise confirmed. Eurogamer says that the NX will feature a centralized screen and two detachable controllers on the left and the right of the screen. This means that you can play on the go and when you get home, you can connect the system to the TV and keep playing there with the controllers detached from the device for easier use. In addition, they say that the device wil...

Report: Microsoft Testing New Xbox Prototype Devices

The rumor about Microsoft working on updated Xbox One hardware continues to grow today with a new report from The Verge.

This all began last week when several people noticed new FCC filings from Microsoft that point to updated Xbox One hardware components. This includes a new wireless chip for the Xbox One. Other components are presumably under an NDA between Microsoft and the FCC. That particular NDA expires on June 25, just 12 days ahead of Microsoft's E3 conference. The above image of the prototype wireless component was leaked by the Brazilian equivalent of the FCC, which plays things a bit fast and loose with...
