As of this writing, my former co-workers, friends, and professional family at OXM US are putting their last issue to bed before they are handed their pink slips in the wake of parent company Future Publishing laying off a third of its US staff and ceasing US production of the magazine that gave me my start in this business.
Subscribers to the magazine should note that a monthly issue will continue to arrive in your mail box. Only, instead of the usual staff, it will now be written from Future's UK office.
My old colleagues tell me that they will at least get to say a proper goodbye in their final issue before the changeover happens, which is a classy move on the higher-ups' part. That's why I wanted to write this blog, too – to say goodbye to all of you who were kind enough to read what I wrote during my time there.
