OnRush Devs at Codemasters Hit with Layoffs

Codemasters has reportedly laid off a number of employees from the OnRush development team after it was widely reported that sales have been adequate at best.

The team was previously known as Evolution Studios. They were acquired by Codemasters in 2016 after being dropped by their previous owner, Sony. While working as Evolution Studios, the studio created the often delayed but fairly well-reviewed Driveclub. They were also the team that brought the world the MotorStorm extreme racing titles. Of those laid off, was OnRush director and primary face of the studio Paul "Rushy" Rustchynsky. This has been confirmed by a number of sources, including other senior staff members. Eurogamer was...

  • Sources Say Gazillion Employees Laid Off Today as Marvel Heroes Forced to End a Month Ahead of Schedule

Last week, news started to spread that the developer of Marvel Heroes, Gazillion, would be closing up shop and shutting down their once popular action-RPG title, Marvel Heroes. The initial plan was to let the team and the game continue on until the end of 2017.

It seems those plans have abruptly changed. Multiple sources have said that Gazillion was shut down today, on the eve of Thanksgiving. Marvel Heroes itself will now come to a rapid and unceremonious conclusion on Friday. That would be this Friday, November 24. This reveal came from sources that shared a termination letter written by CEO Dave Dohrmann. The letter claims that "banki...

    Telltale Hit with Layoffs

Telltale Games, the studio behind a number of recent adventure titles such as Batman: The Telltale Series, every season of The Walking Dead, and Minecraft: Story Mode have laid off about 90 staff members today, or about 25% of their total workforce.
"Our industry has shifted in tremendous ways over the past few years. EA Shuts Down Dead Space Developer Visceral Games

EA has added yet another tally to their ever growing wall of studios they have shut down. The latest to fall victim is none other than Visceral Games, the studio behind the Dead Space franchise, Battlefield Hardline, and an upcoming Star Wars game.

The sad news comes courtesy of a blog posting on the EA website.
"In its current form, it was shaping up to be a story-based, linear adventure game. Throughout the development process, we have been testing the game concept with players, listening to the feedback about what and how they want to play, and closely tracking fundamental shifts in the marketplace. It has become clear that to deliver
