It was rumored weeks ago that the next Assassin's Creed title would take place in London and was codenamed Assassin's Creed Unity. Today, Kotaku was anonymously sent some screenshots and information that confirms the old rumor.

Unity looks to take place in 18th-century Paris. As mentioned, this is just one of two titles in development by Ubisoft in the Assassin's Creed franchise. This one, Unity, will be for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Another game, codenamed Comet, will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The screenshots (seen below) that were sent to Kotaku show a very early look at Unity. From what the site was told, the finished product will obviously look a lot different, which includes having much better texture work. It will also feature a new parkour mechanic, which is seen in the on-screen button prompts in the images.
