Facebook Reportedly Bringing Splinter Cell Back... as a VR Game

Who wished on a monkey's paw?!

There is a story circulating today saying that Facebook may have already signed deals with Ubisoft to bring back Splinter Cell and a new Assassin's Creed title. That's not the weird part. The weird part here is that the deal is to create VR games in these two popular franchises. And since it's Facebook that pushed the deal, that would mean that the games would be Oculus "exclusive" and sold through their Oculus Store.

    This is, at...

Google Wants to Stream Assassin's Creed Odyssey to You Through Chrome

The idea of streaming a game to an end consumer isn't a radically new idea. It's been around for years now in one form or another, including with current services like PlayStation Now or Nvidia's similarly named GeForce Now. But streaming a game through a browser? Well, that's a bit different and not really something that's been done on the scale of a AAA game. At least, it wasn't a thing until now. Google, of all companies, announced Project Stream earlier today. They're calling it a "techn...

According to Yves Guillemot, as quoted by GameSpot, there will not be a new Assassin's Creed game coming in 2019.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot delivered this news earlier at Gamescom.
"On Assassin's, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin's next year. It's just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you're not going to have a fully fledged

    Review: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PC)

I don't remember history being this buggy.
If there is one area that video games come up short in, it's when they attempt to tackle real-life history. Specifically, games come up well short in being historically accurate without also including a healthy dose of embellishment or suspension of disbelief. In nearly all of the games that focus on real-world history, you almost always play as some overpowered jack-of-all-trades. Yes, this includes games and franchises such as Call of D...
