It begins in March with Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures and Free Realms and concludes in July with Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Wizardry Online. The closures will occur at the conclusion of the indicated months.
"At Sony Online Entertainment, we are always evaluating our portfolio to ensure we're providing players with the best gameplay experiences," a representative said. "At times, as part of this commitment, we have to make the difficult decision to sunset a game so we can refocus our resources on other areas in the best interest of our company and player community."
SOE says that they have already seen players moving on to other titles and could not justify the continued cost for keeping the servers up for these games. SOE also hopes that by announcing these closures this early, players will be able to find other titles that interest them and plan accordingly.
