Mark your calendars for March 29 through April 3, because the next Major for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will take place on those dates at MLG Columbus 2016. The event takes place in none other than Columbus, Ohio and will feature eight of the best teams from DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca going up against eight challenging teams as decided by offline qualifiers.These 16 teams will be competing for a slice of the $250,000 prize pool.
The six-day event will be streamed live via continuous high-quality coverage provided by MLG, with all matches featured on the official stream.
As with previous Majors, CS:GO fans will have an opportunity to directly support their favorite teams by purchasing exclusive MLG Columbus 2016 stickers, with 50% of the proceeds going to players and organizations. From the three 2015 Major Championships, professional CS:GO players and organizations earned more than $9 million through tournament prizes and sticker sales.
Columbus will mark the eighth Major Championship for CS:GO held since 2013, and the first Major held in North America. In 2015 CS:GO Major Championships drew record-breaking audiences, reaching over 1.2 million concurrent online viewers during their grand finals.
