  • Battlefield 6 Beta Rumored to Begin August 7

First a closed beta then an open beta.

Assuming you choose to believe fresh rumors, a beta for Battlefield 6 will begin on August 7th. According to anonymous sources speaking with Insider Gaming, a closed beta will run from August 7-8 with an open beta starting right after on August 9th and ending on the 10th.

According to those sources, there will be a couple of ways to gain access to that closed beta that begins on the 7th. You will either be able to get a beta code through Twitch drops offered from "one of the hundreds of content creators streaming" the upcoming multiplayer reveal event. Otherwise, you will be able to get access to the closed beta if you pre-order Battlefield 6.

There is a special multiplayer reveal event for Battlefield 6 that will air on July 31st at 1:30 pm ET via YouTube and Twitch. It's not clear what all will be revealed from the teams working under the Battlefield Studios umbrella, particularly when it comes to the expected battle royale component for Battlefield 6. It also isn't clear just yet when these Twitch influencers will go live with their own streams, whether it's immediately following tomorrow's developer stream or in the days following.

As far as pre-orders are concerned, it is suggested that you will be able to pre-order Battlefield 6 starting tomorrow either during the multiplayer reveal event or shortly after. The full game is suggested to be released October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

We have less than a day to go to find out some solid answers, so stay tuned.

The focus was on making the game for as many users as possible.

Despite Battlefield 5 being the first game to implement real-time ray tracing, the feature will not make any appearance in the upcoming Battlefield 6. Ray tracing will not be included at the game's launch and there are "no plans to bring it into the game in the near future."

Speaking with Comicbook, Ripple Effect technical director Christian Buhl, says that the focus of the teams within Battlefield Studios was on performance. Buhl says that the teams "wanted to make sure that all of our effort was focused on making the game as optimized as possible for the default settings and the default users."

No, we are not going to have ray-tracing when the game launches and we don’t have any plans in the near future for it either. That was because we wanted to focus on performance. We wanted to make sure that all of our effort was focused on making the game as [optimized] as possible for the default settings and the default users. So, we just made the decision relatively early on that we just weren’t going to do ray-tracing and again, it was mostly so that we could focus on making sure it was performance for everyone else.
Not focusing on ray tracing is probably the smart play for the multiplayer component of Battlefield 6, but it is disappointing to hear that enhanced visual options won't be offered for the single player campaign.
