Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios (what remains of them) just unveiled the first official trailer for Battlefield 6. The name is also confirmed to be Battlefield 6, which is something that we were merely speculating about for all of the months prior to today.
Today's reveal is just that, a reveal. A longer multiplayer focused gameplay event will be held as a livestream with some of the Battlefield Studios developers on July 31st. That stream will kick off at 2:30 pm ET (11:30 am PT) through both YouTube and Twitch.
EA says that this showcase will "demonstrate why this is the most ambitious title in the series' history(...)." We will get a look at the multiplayer maps, the multiplayer game modes, and "much much more." Following this live reveal, EA says that some of "your favorite first-person shooter creators will also be sharing the first ever Battlefield 6 gameplay streams."
Today's more general review offers a little taste of the "ultimate al-out warfare experience." We are introduced to the Pax Armata, "a Private Military Corporation bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict." This PMC will play a role in both the multiplayer components for Battlefield 6 as well as the game's single player campaign.
Battlefield 6 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic, and presumably the EA app.
In Battlefield 6, the series’ incredible blend of visceral combat, epic warfare, and player freedom returns. Blow through walls and bring down buildings for a tactical advantage or take to the skies in white-knuckle dogfights. Take part in a war filled with tanks, fighter jets, and sweeping combat at a grand scale but remember: the deadliest weapon is your squad.

And what are they planning on doing with Battle Royale to not waste time and money when taking on Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone? Their attempts with Firestorm and Hazard Zone didn't catch on, and while Portal has a Battle Royale mode, I don't know if there's enough community interest to be profitable against the two juggernauts. And would they be competing against their own Apex Legends when they do release one?
And lastly, how many mechanics from previous Battlefield games make a return? I'm guessing Commander Mode is out of the question? I only know that they finally let go of the Specialists concept (they already have Apex Legends - they don't need Battlefield Specialists become a spin-off for more hero shooters), and they're aware we want class-based gameplay.
In a way. I've heard *ahem* from some people that were in the recent beta that there is a huge amount of destruction as seen in this video. Tons of walls and chunks of buildings blown away with debris falling and staying on the battlefield.
Each class will have Signature Weapons/Traits/Gadgets. EX: Assault class will excel with Assault Rifles, and be able to shoot faster after coming out of sprint. Assault's Trait will let them have reduced fall damage, Assault's Signature Gadget is an Adrenaline Injector that gives them resistances to flash/stun, lets them sprint faster, and temporary increased explosive resistance.
Another example, Recon. Weapon: Less scope sway with sniper rifles, can hold breath, faster rechambering between shots. Trait: Auto spot enemies when aiming down sights. Gadget: Motion sensor.
I'm sure they have an Ultimate ready to go off, though, that will completely ruin it.
Also those who were in the recent beta sure are really lucky to be able to share what to expect. Like dang, I can only imagine if anyone from the Total Gaming Network community (given Battlefield is one of its roots) would ever have the opportunity to play in these betas. Who knows... Maybe... One can hope...
