  • Battlefield: Hardline Beta Updated with "Netcode" Improvements

    The PC version of the beta for Battlefield: Hardline was updated today. Among the changes were improvements to the "netcode" based off of the "netcode" improvements for Battlefield 4.
    - Fixed a crash that could happen while taking a screenshot
    - Fixed several audio issues, including a crash
    - Fixed a rare server crash
    - Added a poor network connection notification icon
    - Integrated same “netcode” improvements from Battlefield 4

    Did you see that they included the QUOTATIONnetcodeQUOTATION update?! Seriously, the continued use of "netcode" with the quotes just comes off as completely patronizing to the community.

        The "netcode" term is a pretty large debate.

        I dont care, I just want it fixed.

        I dont feel patronized because of "netcode" being used because I saw the video where it was first used and it was a general term. It doesn't mean anything specific and is generic.

        I feel patronized when they say things are fixed and they are not or they say its meant to be that way when a month ago they said it was a bug and are looking into it, like when helis flip when they get hit.

          I get the feeling they think netcode isn't a factor in their issues, in fighting games devs are constantly tweaking netcode to get the best performance, i know in RTS's netcode is massively important due to the number of units and ai. For shooters the answer always seems to be throw more powerful servers at it.

            I dont think that. I think they CANT fix it because of the things locked in the frostbite engine. They are doing all these work arounds to try to make the overall performance as good as it can be, but Ive suspected Frostbite was the issue and after CTE, I am very positive.

            Maybe FB4 will have it unlocked.
