  • PlayStation Ditches PC and Embraces AI in Latest Business Strategy

Everything continues to get so much worse.
A mechanical T-rex roaming the plains in Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Stephen Totilo over on Game File shared some rather unfortunate changes from the latest PlayStation business strategy summary contained within Sony's latest annual financial report.

Contained within the section on Sony's "Game & Network Services" division (aka: PlayStation division), Sony took out mentions of PC and replaced them with AI. Totilo specifically notes that in the 2025 report from Sony, the company said that they "plan to continue its efforts to deploy its first-party titles to multiple platforms such as PC." That entire line has been cut in the 2026 report.

This seems to be an even more clear indicator that Sony's first-party PlayStation titles will no longer see the light of day on PC, as has been stated previously. There are new rumors to suggest that Sony may still release a first-party title on PC here and there, but this is either wishful thinking from fans or PlayStation executives keeping the door open a crack to save face if they ever decide to return. However, it's not looking likely you will ever see another first-party single-player title from PlayStation appear on PC.

Sony did add an additional section to the section in which they talk about PlayStation and it's one that won't make anybody happy. Sony says that they are now "utilizing AI to unleash the creativity of studios and further enhance the PlayStation experience."

Ditching PC and embracing AI? That is one hell of a tradeoff.
