Relief is in sight.

Starfield released on PlayStation 5 less than a week ago, and for some players the launch has been anything but smooth. Over the past week, there have been multiple reports across various social media sites related to crashing issues specific to the PlayStation 5 version of Starfield.

Given how often these crash complaints have been made over the past six days, it's probably no surprise that Bethesda is very much aware that there is a problem somewhere with the PlayStation 5 version of Starfield. Indeed, they are quite aware and have made a short public statement stating that they have narrowed down some of the PS5 related crashing issues. They hope to have a hotfix released this week with fixes for PlayStation 5 players.

Thanks for sharing your adventures across the Settled Systems this weekend — we’ve loved reading them! We’re aware of some reported PS5 crashing issues and have narrowed them down to a small number of causes. We’re addressing these in a hotfix we’re aiming to release this week. Thanks for flagging, and we’ll keep you posted.
They did not share any details on what's causing these crashes, or even if there is a way to mitigate the chance of crashes on the system. If you are someone looking to play some Starfield on PlayStation 5, you may want to just wait a tiny bit longer for that hotfix to be released.

Those playing the new Terran Armada downloadable content on other platforms have also reported encountering several different bugs. The new premium content currently sits at a "Mixed" rating on Steam due to those various bugs in addition to complaints about the repetitive nature of the missions. Chances are there will be a patch (or several) released for Starfield across all platforms in the weeks ahead.
