So Shepard won't tell the audience to press CTRL to crouch?
The Mass Effect television show is inching ever closer to becoming a reality at Prime Video. Allegedly, the writing is the only thing stopping Amazon from ordering a full series for Mass Effect on Prime Video.
The Ankler reports that parts of the Mass Effect script should be rewritten to make it "more appealing to non-gamers." This request comes from Peter Friedlander, the head of global TV at Amazon MGM Studios. Apparently back in October 2025, Friedlander started to read through scripts in order to more directly make decisions on various in-production projects at Prime Video. Friedlander's call to make the script more broadly appealing leaves the fate of Mass Effect in question.
Described as "pricey genre drama" by The Ankler, Mass Effect has yet to secure a series deal with Amazon. If the rewrites go well, it's probably a safe assumption that a series order for Mass Effect will be greenlit by Amazon.
It isn't clear how the current script is geared more towards gamers specifically. Is it a lingo thing? Is it a matter of there being too many references or nods to the franchise that only diehard fans would get? Wait. I got it. There were too many racial slurs and misogyny.

by Shawn ZipayFor the first time in literally years, the DLC for Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age: Origins have appeared for sale on Origin. To be more specific, the DLC is available for sale in bundles for each game. Hey, it's still a step up from being only able to buy the DLC through BioWare using their BioWare Points. Who thought that was a smart thing to keep doing when Origin has been around for years? How did it literally take years for this to happen?! And why can you...

by Shawn ZipayPlus word about the Mass Effect TV adaptation.
It's November 7th, but to Mass Effect fans it's time for the annual N7 Day. This year's N7 Day was a bit more on the subdued side with just a couple of announcements being made regarding the franchise.
First up, Mass Effect executive producer Mike Gamble stated quite clearly that "EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe." Gamble wanted to "set the record straight" after...-
