Bethesda shares a new look at Starfield for PlayStation 5. A new trailer focuses on some of the PlayStation 5 exclusive features and enhancements as Bethesda touts that this is the "most complete and evolved Starfield experience."
The PlayStation 5 release of Starfield will benefit from multiple updates that were released for the Xbox and PC versions of the game. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 version will include the new Free Lanes update that will also be out on April 7. The Terran Armada DLC will also be out on the 7th as a separate purchase from the base game.
On PlayStation 5 Pro, Starfield will have a Pro Visual Mode that pushes a 4K render target with 30 FPS. The Pro Performance Mode targets 60 FPS with an unspecified resolution target. Both modes utilize PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling technology. Obviously Starfield will include Trophy support, SSD optimizations, and DualSense features.
Adaptive Triggers
Feel the difference from shot to shot. Adaptive triggers add physical resistance and feedback to the L2 and R2 buttons, giving different types of weapons (both ground and starship) their own unique feel.
Light Bar
The DualSense lightbar keeps pace with the action. It shifts color to match your health on the ground or your starship’s status in space, pulsing red when you’re in imminent danger and returning to white as you recover.
Touchpad
Quick presses and swipes on the touchpad make it easier to stay in the flow while exploring. Switch POVs by pressing the left side of the touchpad; open the map with the right side; press and hold the right side to activate your hand scanner; and swipe in different directions to access key menus like Inventory, Missions, and Skills.
Controller Speaker
Audio logs and ship intercom chatter plays directly through the DualSense controller speaker, pulling you deeper into life among the stars.
