According to reporting from The Verge, Xbox is looking to have a rather big year in 2026. Citing confidential sources, The Verge says that the Xbox division at Microsoft will release a new Forza game, a new Halo, a new Fable, and a new Gears of War title this year.
Of course, all of these were already known to be coming. Forza Horizon 6 will be the first of these four to be released, with a release date set for May 19th.
The Verge's sources say that Halo: Campaign Evolved will try to get a summer release. Of course, that isn't set in stone yet and nothing official has been announced. Then there will be the new Fable arriving this fall, with Gears of War: E-Day also supposed coming in the second half of 2026.
Double Fine, another studio owned by Xbox, will release Kiln in April. The much teased mega update for Starfield is still also coming "soon."
Yeah, but what about the still not announced Fallout 3 remaster? According to The Verge's latest, the Fallout 3 remaster is "still in active development." The Verge says that Bethesda "is keen to ensure it's as well polished as the surprise release of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered last year."
Unfortunately, The Verge did not provide any information about the possible Fallout: New Vegas remaster that was also rumored here and there.
The Verge also touches briefly on some improvements Microsoft is working on for the Xbox Ally devices. Improvements to the full screen experience and an automatic super resolution feature are planned. An improved Xbox PC UI is also being worked on. The Verge also suggests that we may start to hear some information about the next-gen Xbox nearer to the end of the year.
